What types of caregivers do you place?

We place highly qualified nannies, newborn care specialists (NCS), and Douglas including travel ready nannies and those with specialized expertise. Wether RIE or Montessori, experienced with special needs or fluent in a second language, we’ll match you with a professional who aligns with your family’s values and lifestyle.

How do you vet your caregivers?

We have an incredibly thorough screening process to ensure every candidate meets our standards. This includes:

+ Detailed application and resume review

+ In-depth, multi-stage interviews

+ Verified references from past employers

+ Work history and experience verification

+ Social media screening

+ Comprehensive background check ( after conditional offer )

Only about 5% of all applicants make it through our process, we don’t just screen for qualifications, we look for professionalism, personality, and the ability to truly support a family.

How long does the placement process take?

Most placements take between 4 to 8 weeks. Timing can vary based on your responsiveness, the job location, the role’s criteria, and the availability of qualified candidates. We move quickly but always prioritize the right fit over a rushed one.

Do you work with families outside of New York City ?

Yes. While we’re based in NYC, we place caregivers with families across the U.S. and internationally.

What does it cost to hire through KinderWeltCare?

We keep our pricing transparent and simple = no hidden fees, no surprises. Just expert support and thoughtfully matched caregivers.

Our agency fees are based on the type and length of placement:

+ Full-time live-out (3+ months): 15% of the nanny’s gross annual income

+ Part-time or Short-term (1-3months): 20% of the nanny’s gross annual income or a $2500 minimum

+ Live-in, rotational, or special language placements: 18% of nanny’s gross annual income

+ Travel nannies: 25% of gross earnings for the duration of the contract or a $2500 minimum.

+ Newborn Care Specialists (NCS) & Doulas: 25% of the gross earnings for the employment period

What is the difference between a nanny and a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS)?

A nanny typically provides ongoing care for infants and children of all ages, while an NCS specializes in short-term, around-the-clock care during the first weeks or months of a newborn’s life—often overnight.

What if things don't work out with the nanny?

While it’s rare, it can happen – and if it does, we will provide a one-time replacement within 90 days of the start date at no additional cost. Our priority is a lasting, successful match and we’re with you every step of the way.

Do you help with contracts or payroll?

Absolutely. We provide contract templates, help you outline the terms clearly and connect you with trusted payroll providers , including Poppins Payroll, who specializes in domestic employment. You’ll find more guidance in our Resources section.

What type of benefits are typically offered ?

It depends on the role and schedule, but offering benefits is key to attracting top talent. Common perks include:

+ 2 weeks paid vacation,

+ 5 days PTO

+ Holiday pay – paid time off for major holidays the nanny would normally work ( Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc)

+ Healthcare stipend or heath insurance

+ MetroCard or mileage reimbursement

+ Meals during the day

+ 401 (k) contributions
